Department Hours

The Building Inspector / Code Enforcement Officer is in Monday - Thursday from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

The Building Department Clerk is in Monday - Thursday from 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Building Department is CLOSED on Fridays.

Building Department and Code Enforcement

Gardiner Local Law regulates and restricts the location, construction and use of buildings and structures and the use of land in Gardiner. All questions should be directed to the Building Inspector's office. We encourage you to contact us if you have questions on requirements for home remodeling or site construction.

The Town of Gardiner enforces the N.Y.S. Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, as well as its local municipal code and zoning law, to ensure the safety and welfare of the citizens of our town. 

NOTICE TO ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS: Ulster County Master Electrician Licenses are REQUIRED to obtain Building Permits for Electrical Work.

Notice to Municipalities and Electrical Contractors: Pursuant to Ulster County Ulster County Local Laws 3 & 8 of 2019, Master Electrician Licenses are required to obtain building permits for electrical work.
