The Planning Board is responsible for reviewing site plans, special use permits, and subdivision applications to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and alignment with the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. Additionally, the Board works to promote the orderly growth of Gardiner by fostering a balanced approach to residential, commercial, and industrial development.
Planning and Zoning in the Town of Gardiner are overseen by two appointed boards: the Town Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. While the Planning Board consults with a professional planning advisor. The Building Inspector also serves as the Code Enforcement Officer and frequently assists applicants in understanding the implications of the Town’s Zoning Law.
